Strike Boeing According to the union representing workers, defense workers in Missouri voted against the company's amended agreement on Friday.

More than 3,000 workers will be on strike in the St. Louis area, the first walkout in nearly three decades.

In a statement read by the International Association of Machines and Aerospace Workers, Boeing's amended offer did not include enough signature bonuses regarding what Boeing workers received. “” Democratic votes indicate the commitment of 3,200 IAM union members until they continue their position until they hear their voices. “

The union had said it reached a five -year temporary deal with Boeing on Wednesday, with a better wage and signature bonus, and voted on the contract on Friday.

Workers' rejecting agreement includes another 45 % average wage increase. The local chapter of the union, IAM 837, said it would increase the average wage of $ 75,000 to $ 109,000.

“Our members in St. Louis have once again shown that they will not solve half of Boeing's actions.” “Boeing must start listening to your employees and return to the table with a meaningful offer that respects the sacrifices and skills of these workers.”

Boeing has said it is hiring more workers to replace those who come on strike to meet the growing demand.

Dan Gulian, vice president of the Boeing Air dominance, said in a statement that no further talks have been made between Boeing and strike workers, and that the company is “disappointed.”

“We have made it clear that the overall economic framework of our offer will not change, but we have permanently adjusted employees and union opinions to address their concerns.” “We will continue to implement our emergency plan, including hiring permanent alternative workers, as we maintain support for our customers.”

According to the Union, the amazing workers mostly collect and maintain the F -15 fighter jets and missile systems. Employees went on strike in early August and rejected the previous offer, including other improvements, including a 20 % normal wage increase and a $ 5,000 signing bonus.
