The off -office is a new gack wire series that highlights members of the Seattle Tech community about the passion or passion they are chasing out of work.
Name: Mark Michael.
The job of the day: Seattle Startup co -founder and CEO, whose platform is used to create website and landing pages by major brands and/or by their agencies.
Off -Office Passion: Michael is not a big game boy who spends time watching football all over the weekend. She is in the arts and much more. And right from the epidemic, he began to take a piano lesson.
After a while, his teacher insisted that it was time to recite because it was the best way to get better. So about three years ago he recited his first recitation in his previous courtyard. The program included a group of 43 -year -old Michael and a group of young children.
Michael said, “And when I played this concert and my two songs on the piano, I was telling you, I thought I was Elton John or Labrus.” “It was 11am on Saturday morning, I was wearing a black tux. My head was so big.”
He took a lesson with the same teacher and recently hosted performances for about 80 80 people in Seattle.
He said of his singing, “terrible, terrifying, terrible,”. “Except the audience liked it, because they couldn't tell if it was a fact. There was something strange there.”
On September 26, she is going to do this once again, on the other side of the country, the holiday destination, which she loves her wife. He calls the next concert – to which he has seriously invited former President George W. Bush.
The most beneficial aspect of this pursuit: Michael confessed to feeling anxious and “extremely painful” during performance, but it feels like you are working hard on eliminating a race or something else.
“This is all stress release,” he said. “And once it was done, so high, whatever you want to call it, it is, 'oh, wow.'
The lesson he brings back to work: Michael said playing the piano creates a level of attention that serves it well in the giant.
Going beyond yourself can be a problem with his music. When he is playing well, Michael becomes more confident and imagines that he is selling to Madison Square Garden soon. Work brings everything back, and helps it to focus on “thing”.
Its music fills a falsehood at the end of the week after a week full of work works, plans and speed.
“What am I going to do, work myself on the weekend? Am I going to stick people on LinkedIn?” He laughed. “There is a different kind of brain element to finish me at least (music). So I can start on Monday like this, 'Yes, okay, it's done, now it has returned to this thing.'
