On Friday, a startup called Dastan announced a masterpiece, if there was a head scratching, and the Conscin Wells's classic film “The Magnificant Ambriers” plans to rebuild 43 minutes.

A startup that bils itself as “AI's Netflix”, and has recently raised money from Amazon's Alexa Fund, and talked about re -making the film that was first released in 1942?

Well, the company has created a platform that allows consumers to make its cartoon with AI indicators – fiction is starting with its own intellectual property, but it has the ambitions to offer similar capabilities with Hollywood IP. In fact, it has already been used to create unauthorized “South Park” installments.

Now fiction is launching a new AI model that can be speculated that long, complex statements can be made. In the next two years, filmmaker Brian Rose – who has already worked to rebuild the original vision of Wales for five years – plans to use this model to recreate the lost footage from “Magnificant Ambassans”.

It is noteworthy that fiction has not obtained film rights, which has become a potential tech demo that will probably never be issued to the common people.

Why “Ambrons”? If you are not a Sanphile who loves Wales, I'm guessing that it looks like an unclear choice for the digital resurrection.

Even in the classic movie buffs, Wales' second film has been shaded by his older, most famous siblings. Although “Citizens Ken” is often called the largest film so far, “Ambrons” is remembered as a lost masterpiece, which the studio pulled out of the director's hands, cut it dramatically, and eliminated unreasonable happiness.

The reputation of the film – the feeling of loss and what could have been – permanent. That is, fiction and roses are interested. But it is worth emphasizing that the only reason for causing the “brilliant Ambrons” today is the reason for Wales – because how he removed his Hollywood carrier from the track, and even in his diminishing form, it still shows the abundance of his filmmaking.

It is even more surprising that the story apparently failed to reach Wales' property. David Reader, who handles the state for Wales' daughter batteries, described the project as a variety of “trying to promote the back of Wales's creativity” and said that it would be “no modern thinking (whose creative force) would be completely” without a creative force). “

Despite the reader's criticism, he seems less upset over the idea of trying to rebuild “Ambrons” and the fact that the state was “not even given a courtyard of a heads.” Nevertheless, he noted, “The State has accepted AI technology to create a sound model, which intends to use VO work with brands.”

I'm not so open mind. Even Unless The heirs of Wales were being consulted and compensated, I would be zero interest in this new “Ambrons”, as I am zero interest in listening to the digital simulak of Wales' legendary voice that is being used to hawk new products.

Now, Wales fans know that this is not the first time that other movie banners have later tried to fix or eliminate their films. But at least the attempt was used in the efforts that Wales shot himself. In the meantime, fiction describes his planned approach as AI and traditional filmmaking hybrid – seemingly some scenes will be reset with modern actors whose faces will then turn for digital entertainment of the original cast.

Despite the foolishness of announcing such a plan without film rights or the blessing of Wales's daughter, at least Rose Wales is affected by the real desire to honor Wells. For example, in a statement about the film why he wants to re -make the film, Rose mourned the destruction of a four -minute long, unprecedented moving camera shot whose loss is a tragedy, with only 50 seconds of the shot remaining in the movie.

I share the feeling of loss of it – but I also believe that this is a tragedy that AI cannot be banned.

It doesn't matter how convincing and roses it may be to make your version of a tracking shot together, it will be Their Shot, Wales', Joseph Cotton and Eagenus Moore heads full of franklin style copies, not actor himself. His last product will not be the version of “The Excellent Ambrons” of Wales, which was destroyed by RKO more than 80 years ago. Except for a miraculous discovery of lost footage, this version ends forever.
