Today, Apex announced its series B funding round, led by XYZ Ventures and CRV, which was attended by the front. And if you just spend more time in the LA, you will quickly realize that we are in an important part of the place and defensive start.
Is this the reason for engineering out of Kaltek, UCLA, USC, Harvey Mid, and all other universities?
Is this due to a long history of aerospace and aviation skills, from Northup Gromman and Lockheed Martin to JPL and NASA?
Is this because SpaceX headed the pond of start -up thinkers who are now starting their business?
These are all things. And all these things helped the founder of Ian Cinnamon here in California. Apex makes satellite buses more faster and more affordable, allowing companies to increase the significant deployment of satellite.
Recently I was happy to talk to Ian this week at Startup. So instead of writing a long blog post about why this business is so important (this is) and why we are so excited to support it (we are), I'll let you hear it straight from it:
- Top origin and why it had to be built in Los Angeles
- Why is the place for investors and founders a desired sector
- Complications of satellites construction (and how Apex has unlocking the market)
- Launching its first satellite and taking selfies from space
I hope you will see the conversation here, and on today's milestone, Ian, Max, and the Apex team will be involved in congratulating me.
